"Koda"

This sweet boy was left behind after an owner's move - and boy is he complaining! If you're looking for a big talking bear, you've found him! He's wonderful with everyone and everything - hope you have a big lap! Warning: He's a big bed snuggler too - he jumped up and took over Butch's spot between me and Larry the other day - what a bed hog! He just wants a family to call his own. He is housetrained and very well mannered. Oh, and he LOVES to play ball! When did I start rescuing Long-haired White Labs?! hehehe He is not good with cats - he gets very excited when he sees or hears them and starts shrieking almost uncontrollably. The Test Kitty is NOT impressed and refuses further testing! This holds true for when he is outside as well - not something the neighbors are impressed with. He would not do well in a predominately outside situation - and neither would your ears...
Update: 2/25/02: With further testing and evaluation, we've determined that Koda suffers a little bit from anxiety over new or exciting situations. We've been working with this by integrating him fully in our daily lives - he's Butch's buddy now and goes Bye Bye - even to Home Depot where he raised quite a racket at first, but soon settled in to the new people and sights. This is a great dog for a great family, one with the ability to keep him secure emotionally without restricting his life to a backyard. This shouldn't be hard for almost any family really. He just wants to enjoy life with his people! Also, we 'hired' a new 'test kitty' who literally attached himself to Koda's face when the nose got too close - but Koda wasn't trying to hurt the kitty - just smell him! He didn't freak out over the new Cat Muzzle either, he just stood there thinking "Oh, this is what cats are all about...hmmmm" He will acclimate with some loving authority to a cat household. All he needs is patience and understanding - and someone who appreciates him for the beautiful, gorgeous, near perfect boy that he is!
